No objections to the switch to a distributed VCS generally, or bzr
specifically.
But I suspect that using launchpad might be controversial, for two reasons:
- Until it's open-sourced, it becomes "closed infrastructure criticial
to Debian", which is never well received.
- Debian people in competition with Ubuntu/Canonical may have issues,
perceived or real, with relying on a competitor for this sort of thing.
It might make a difference if anyone actually objected on the above
grounds (and, for the record, I'm not). Using a distributed VCS takes a
lot of the sting out of those objections.
As a fallback, how difficult would it be to get loggerhead working on
bzr.debian.org? I'm told the new loggerhead is a lot less
resource-intensive and difficult to get running than the old.
