I realized that my xorg version and linux version might help. I am
using stock Debian 2.6.22-3-686, and xserver-xorg is version 1:7.2-5.
Note that I've stopped marking this bug as found. I think I'm done
trying to help. You obviously don't want it. I apologize for trying
to force my help on you. I thought it was the best course of action
for the Debian project (to get rid of RC bugs), but maybe it is not.
I've found a solution that works for me, and I will just use that.
