[Pkg-cups-devel] Bug#494168: cupsd process exits after serving one request

Hi Brandon,

Hm, I'm a bit lost now. Other people confirmed that the fixed
dependencies fixed the problem, and that cause of the bug *is* fixed
in -1lenny1.

Thus while you see a similar effect, the cause of your particular
problem is something different. Also, since it works for many other
people, it is not an RC bug. (For all those reasons a separate bug
would be much more appropriate, but *shrug*).

So we need a more elaborate debugging procedure here. Can you please
attach your /var/log/cups/error_log after reproducing the crash? It
might give some idea what goes wrong. If that doesn't help, could you
please install cups-dbg and gdb, and do (as root):

  /etc/init.d/cups stop
  gdb --args cupsd -f
  (gdb) run

Then reproduce the crash by calling 'lpstat' or so twice in a
different Terminal? This should cause gdb to intercept the crash.
Please do "bt full" in gdb and copy&paste the result.

Thank you!

Martin
