Just for the record: I recently was on an OpenLDAP tutorial and spoke to
one of the OpenLDAP developers (who was basically paid for this by
SuSE). He told me they still prefer 4.6 because they had stability
problems with 4.7 on some architectues. This information was a few
months old though, he said the team planned to re-evaluate soon.

Not sure about the actual validity of this though, the person left a
pretty mixed impression about his knowledge.
