Bug#588040: very long cyr_expire at startup blocks mail delivery and imap/pop3 service

Package: cyrus-imapd-2.2
Version: 2.2.13-14+lenny3
Severity: wishlist

Hi Henrique,

after a restart cyrmaster process is running, but one can't connect to
imap or pop3 port and sendmail can't communicate via socket with cyrus.
A "ps ax" shows a running "cyr_expire" process for about 10 up to 20
minutes (I think the time depends on the size
of /var/lib/cyrus/deliver.db). After the cyr_expire process finished
everything works fine again.

As discussed on the info-cyrus list please deactivate

 delprune cmd="/usr/sbin/cyr_expire -E 3" at=0100

in the START section of /etc/cyrus.conf to minimize the downtime of the
service.
