[Pkg-dkms-maint] dkms 2.2.1.0 and upstream revision

Hi Debian dkms folks--

upstream is now found at https://github.com/dell-oss/dkms.  they don't
appear to be tagging their releases, but the master branch has a
MAKEFILE with version 2.2.1.0, while debian has upstream version
2.2.0.3.

i also notice that the debian git repository shares no commits with the
upstream git repository.

Assuming that we think the current upstream version is good, I think it
would be useful for maintainers if debian were to merge in upstream's
git history so that our changes would be a small and clearly-visible
diff from theirs.

Has anyone on the debian dkms packaging team reviewed the upstream
changes that we do not yet have, or given any thought to the differences
in debian packaging?
