Wow, weird. I sure can't reproduce. Since when does it do that? Can you
try with a fresh config, fresh user? Is your install somewhat broken?

It seems that your apt still prefers “oldstable” but you're using
“stable” package. Is your install fully up to date?

Yeah, maybe that would help. First try to run it from console and report
if there is any message appearing. Then maybe try to run it from gdb.
