Yes it did.

I went there, gray was selected (and it was working before reading
messages with citation, but not if composing/replying to a message), I
clicked on the gray color, did not change anything, hit OK, close, and
it worked again.

Thanks, I should have figured this out before and not waste your time.

Should this be reported upstream?
