first of all: thanks for the fast reply.

Yes, I also tried it with "pure PyNIfTI", with the same results on OS X and Win.
So
  nim=NiftiImage(os.path.join(pymvpa_dataroot, 'bold.nii.gz'))
  nim.save('tmp.nii.gz

leads to the same result as in the screenshot.

I am running 0.20090303.1  on Debian and Win
and 0.20081017.1 on OS X.

mh? Is there any Information I could contribute to solve this issue?
