Agreed - I prepared some of that, already.
I just pushed experimental versions for both, simgear and flightgear to
the anonscm git repo. I (re-)added flightgear-dbg, meaning with that
flightgear needs to pass NEW as well.
Scott, can you please sponsor simgear? Flightgear would also be nice,
but lintian complains about a binary w/o source...

Sounds like a foot-gun to me.
Can I try splitting up the package? Do I understand correctly that your
fgdata_checkers.py would generate different *source* tarballs? (That'd
be ideal, as flightgear-data easily is the biggest source package as
well.) I'll have a look at the script. Thanks for the pointer.
What's the status on the Aircraft Center? When I last tried it, the UI
dialogs simply didn't work (i.e. the window remained mostly empty).
