That's because that's done with the first change after .0 release, not 
the last before .1.

I'd leave the branch name alone, and for flightgear and flightgear-data 
(simgear can't be because 3.4.0 is still in the NEW queue), also upload 
the for-Ubuntu-15.04 versions to experimental, then request a sync from 
there.

(You're not the first to point out that using experimental as 
"unstable"/Ubuntu-staging during freeze prevents its use for actual 
experiments, but an Ubuntu sync doesn't usually take long, and I suspect 
we won't get simgear out of NEW before jessie release anyway.)
