Oh, I see. Thanks for your explanation. I guess 3.4.1 is going to be
delayed, then. (Given there's not even a git tag for it, yet.)

That's exactly my point, yes.
Given there's no experiment I really want to get out the door, and the
Debian release seems to be relatively close, I can live with using
experimental as a staging area for Ubuntu.
I'd like to wait for 3.4.1 and patch-out the SONAME change. As that
sounds like less compared to forward-patching from 3.4.0 on.
