I am sorry for not being able to help more about FB on Debian packages.
When I moved from FB 1.5 SS From Slackware to Debian I had some big problems
using FB 1.5 SS non-NPTL on Debian 3.1.
After I started using FB 1.5 SS NPTL on Debian 3.1 I had never more those
problems.

In my tests with Debian FB packages I am still going through this "Lock
Manager out of room" error, so I am still using FB 1.5 SS NPTL on some
clients and FB 2 SS NPTL on other clients and I am not using apt-get.
