thanks a lot for the information. The vala thingy makes it a showstopper
for us (sometime I envy openembedded, fixing anything anywhere at
will :-)).
So we should go via fso-gsm0710muxd for now.

He created it privately, but has not yet published it. It will be
distributed, once I reviewed it, via the pkg-fso repositories, so no
worries.
@Josh: Will you notify me when you have create a package with a the
proper .orig.tar.gz/.diff.gz separation?
