Hi Joachim!

I thought the same later on last night: since it compiles perfectly on
an i386 sid chroot as well, I did exactly as you proposed:

  http://git.debian.org/?p=pkg-fso/xf86-video-glamo.git;a=commitdiff;h=993fcc586722383139a6d24e635f84ca2ccb78fa

I thought pdebuild would have whined if the architecture on which you
are building the package is not listed in debian/control, but it seems
it does not until dpkg-gencontol does:
=====
make[1]: Leaving directory `/tmp/buildd/xf86-video-glamo-0.0.0+20090224.git703acea1/obj-x86_64-linux-gnu'
touch build-stamp
 fakeroot debian/rules binary
[...]
dh_installdeb
dh_shlibdeps -- --warnings=6
dh_gencontrol
dpkg-gencontrol: error: current host architecture 'amd64' does not appear in package's architecture list (armel)
dh_gencontrol: dpkg-gencontrol returned exit code 255
make: *** [binary-arch] Error 1
dpkg-buildpackage: failure: fakeroot debian/rules binary gave error exit status 2
E: Failed autobuilding of package
=====

Thus, I do not even think you can build an amd64 package with
"Architecture: armel" ;-)

Thx, bye,
Gismo / Luca
