this is a bad idea. The new vala won't make it into squeeze
and it will result in lots of additional work for us. Please
lets try to get it ready for squeeze+1 :)

I don't know about the status of these packages, so no comment from
me.

fso-frameworkd and openmoko-files-config has nothing to do
with vala. It's python code and config stuff ;)

But let me start with the vala 0.9 issue - I've talked with
Sebastian Dröge (Debian Maintainer of Vala) and Jürgbi (Main
Author of Vala). And the plan was to upload vala 0.9 to sid
once squeeze is frozen. According to jürgbi Vala 0.9 should
not go into a stable release before September (Vala 0.10
will be released at that time).

Now about fso-frameworkd - This package is veeery old in
Debian and outdated in pkg-fso. 'openmoko-files-config'
currently contains the configuration of fso-frameworkd.
I described how I would like to change the packages in
another mail in this thread:

http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/pkg-fso-maint/2010-August/003351.html

In Short:

 1. wait for vala 0.9 arrival in unstable
 2. upload fso-gsmd and fso-deviced to unstable
 3. disable ogsmd and odeviced in fso-frameworkd
 4. update fso-frameworkd in Debian
 5. remove FSO specific files from openmoko-files-config
 6. upload openmoko-files-config
