I have to admit I'm still using the ~year old software mentioned under
"Current Phone Stack" on the
http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/User:TimoJyrinki page. I know its quirks
(useful to have one click Zhone restart button in order to check if
some SMS:s are pending to be shown in the UI (happens) or if calls
don't initiate occasionally) and I currently have no time to break my
daily use FreeRunner. I have that 2nd FreeRunner for development use,
but I've only had intention to get more pre-paid balance for it for
tinkering how the latest sid works.

Also I've actually tried to upgrade the daily phone's software from
time to time, but so far I've always ended up with non-functional
phone so I've restored the "known good" configuration from locally
stored deb:s and frameworkd.conf. And I know that it has been some
combination of old configuration somewhere, not just that the sid
wouldn't have worked at the moment - the always up-to-date development
FreeRunner asks for PIN code and registers to network, while my daily
phone, when upgraded, does not. So therefore also I've kind of stuck
with the old, old stack, even though certainly some newer should work
as well.

I've also patched Zhone to an extent and I like it a lot, so I'm
probably going to see if I can utilize the API patch that was posted
:)
