Thanks a lot for report!

I guess you are better off reporting it upstream so they can fix it
for all and not just the maintainer here for debian.
In general its better to report a bug against the package ('reportbug' helps)
than to drop a message to the mailinglist as these get lost far to easy.

Through i want to mention that mdbus2 is in the archive also, which is
a vala reimplementation (and improvement) from the same upstream,
so i guess mdbus is more or less abondonware…
