TheBigW: if your "fix" was simply to use the supertuxkart binary
provided by upstream, note that fixed packages are already available via
backports, e.g.:

$ sudo apt-get install -t quantal-backports supertuxkart
or
$ sudo apt-get install -t precise-backports supertuxkart

...depending on what Ubuntu release you're running right now.

  SuperTuxKart crash on Kubuntu 12.10

Status in “supertuxkart” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Crashes every time when playing the game. When it crashes, Kubuntu Apport program tries to report but for some reason fails with no error. (saying: "Upload Problem")
  If I'm not wrong, on Kubuntu 12.04 LTS it worked fine with no crashes.

  I hope ubuntu-bug will help.
