Hi gpm lovers,

I was successful compiling 1.20.1 into deb packages under sid with few
chenges. (Please not I am not claiming successful packaging)

  * Downloaded gpm-1.20.1-dt8.src.rpm from Dmitry Torokhov's
    http://www.geocities.com/dt_or/gpm/gpm.html page.
tar file and patches were extracted and imported.
  * Imported 014_has_mouse_control.patch from old debian package as
    gpm-1.20.1-108-mouse_control.patch .
  * Remove duplicate type definition as gpm-1.20.1-109-redef.patch .
  * Ajust debian/rules to new source subdirectories etc.

Please note I did not tryed to merge autops2 thing which is Debian patch
not merged by the upstream nor Dmitry Torokhov. I just confirmed no
device like autops2 in this.

I post this here so people understand why Debian is stuck with old 1.19.6
version. Basically debian package is a folk which has autodetect
function.

I will keep my package at
  http://people.debian.org/~osamu/package

After this I lost interest. But this may still be a good reference if
some one seriously think merging these non-debian 1.20.1 and debin gpm.

Why I did this? Because I have synaptic on my system. So far synps2
of 1.20.1 package did not work for me.

Osamu
