Well, the artsd bug is there for ages. I think it's made visible on
your system because you rebuilt gst-plugins, but would you build it
with the same compiler and optimizations than the original artsd that
worked on your system, then you would have a working artsd.
I'd like to make sure my patch is not the cause of this, so I'd like
you to either confirm the artsd segfault is there if you rebuild a NOT
patched gst-plugins the same you did with the patched one, OR you can
also try to rebuild the gst-plugins in the same way they are built
(without debugging symbols for example).
Either of these would prove my patch 'not guilty', and that would mean
progress in the direction of fixed gstreamer's gstarsdsink and kde's
artsd.
