error installing gstreamer0.8-mad

I am running ubuntu 6.06. I am trying to get mp3 support for Rhythmbox. I
read online that I need to install gstreamer0.8-mad. When I downloaded the
package and attempted to install it with GDebi Package Installer, the
following message appeared under status:
"Error: Dependency is not satisfiable:
libgstreamer0.8-0"
I installed libgstreamer0.8-0 and restarted the computer, but that did not
solve the problem.
Please tell me what I need to do to install this.
