Bug#430075: rhythmbox skips the first half second

Hi,

to get anything out of my speaker, I'd like to know:

- what gstreamer packages are essential/recommended to play back mp3 files

- what gstreamer packages are essential/recommended to play back sound
  through digital output

- what configuration files are involved in this, so that I can purge
  all gstreamer related packages and config files, to start again from
  scratch
