OK, this is what I ran:

inspironjaime2:~# for i in /var/lib/apt/lists/*_Packages; do echo "$i :" >>
mangle-output; /usr/lib/ia32-libs-tools/mangle --index 2>>mangle-output
>/dev/null < $i ;  done

I'm attaching the resulting mangle-output, the Packages files that caused
the assertion problem and my sources.list (just in case).
