As I google, I can not find you mentioning URL of your package to be
reviewed recently.  So I can not check what you are talking...

When ever ask sponsor, it is good idea to post full information.

Not really from my perspective...  It just means consistent looks with other
similar packages (and also SPEC file for RH) so It is easier to maintain.  

CDBS is nothing but a wrapper over current debhelper and it hides too
much in my opinion without much technical merits.  debhelper (>=7) is
whole different story. CDBS was a good thing for debhelper (<< 7).
