I've asked them that question, too. :-)

They did not reply so far, but I guess that it's only intended for the
initial setup of their database. Further sync'ing does not seem to be
wanted by the admins. They've asked me whether we point people with
translations to the TP, so that the translations are submitted there as
well. I've said that our current approach is to allow as many workflows
as possible, so if translators rather use the Debian BTS or our SVN
directly, we do not insist on submitting the data via TP.

However, the downside of this is of course, that our SVN repository and
the TP will always be out of sync.
