I'm sorry if this does not please you. However, I think that SVN has
quite a few limitations, therefore I wanted to try one of the modern
distributed version control systems.

Having worked with both git and bzr, I decided to give git a try,
mainly because it seems to be more widely accepted among Debian
Developers. Apart from that, isoquery is a small project, and I think
that using git for this is not a once-for-all decision. If another DVCS
seems to suit better, I would not hesitate to convert the repository
again.

For example, git has very poor Windows and MacOS support, so I don't
think that iso-codes should be maintained within git. IIRC, some of our
contributors with SVN write access don't use Linux. Bzr on the other
side supports both platforms well and feels much more comfortable for
people with SVN knowledge, because it uses very similar commands.

Do you prefer one of the distributed VCS? Personally, I know how to use
bzr, but I don't know much about all the other systems out there
(darcs, mercurial, ...)

Regards,
Tobias
