There are many suggestions to move to some central place. However,
i18n is, just like packaging, a highly decentralized activity in
Debian (several CVS repositories, several workflows...) and, moreover,
several translators prefer working offline.

The most difficult part being the translations flowing back to what
they pertain (packages, website, etc.)

As a consequence, nothing happened yet.
