(I don't think I can contribute anything to discussion
of whether to use common names outside specific contexts.
In my case there was a usability problem
where (some) users couldn't readily distinguish
"Korea, Democratic People's Republic of" from "Korea, Republic of"
It seems likely that it could exist in other contexts,
but I can just as easily imagine contexts where continued use of the
name="Korea, Democratic People's Republic of" or
official_name="Democratic People's Republic of Korea"
attributes, without mentioning "North Korea", is correct ...)
