The sooner the better.

Thanks.

I tested the upgrade here on a /testing base chroot mirror environment and
posted the reports on the list. With the last changes, the current version of
jed|xjed|jed-common .18-2 builds fine, installs, upgrades and de-installs
nicely and neglects an existing jed-extra-0.1.x.

This is mainly due to the Slang1 ... Slang2 switch, that on the other
hand seems overdue and provides so much improved functionality that IMO
it is time to put this out.

The changes are documented, have a look at the NEWS as well as on the
SLang documentation mentined there.

In my vast library of private extensions I had only minor problems after
the switch to jed-0.99.18-2. Well, the modes published at Jedmodes were
made "SLang-2-proof" earlier with the help of people that did the move to
SLang2 earlier than me.

Yes, but it will affect them in both ways: creating hazzle by the switch
to SLang 2 as well as allowing them to move on and make use of the new
features of SLang2 with the Debian provided Jed. (And also to get rid of
the obsolete SLang1 library eventually.)

Rafael, please upload jed-0.99.18-2 to /unstable even if you do not cope
to change all your personal extensions and such cannot use it yourself
immediately.
