I have seen the patches, and they made me *very* worried, because they
certainly will break completely in cyrus 2.3.

I thought the patches were simple things, like vendor annotations... big bad
assumption to make.

Are you guys opposed to a cyrus-kolab type of solution?  I really don't want
to subject people using regular cyrus tools to the kind of breakage kolab
risks when disabling certain checks, or allowing @ inside the hierarchy,etc.

Ah, we are speaking the same language.  Yes, it is possible.

Not really, it just causes us to change the build system, and to have two
different sets of patches for each build.
