Package: lirc-modules-source
Version: 0.0.0-9.3
Upgraded my kernel yesterday from 2.6.18 to 2.6.21 and tried to re-build
lirc kernel modules with module-assistant and, this having failed, the 2
methods outlined in /usr/src/modules/lirc/README.
It took me quite a few hours to finally come up with a solution. I
downloaded the latest lirc tar-ball from lirc.org (lirc-0.8.2.tar.bz2),
built the package and moved the modules in my /lib/modules/[kernel]/misc
directory.
I do not quite understand why there is only one package available for
both the testing and the unstable branch which is hopelessly outdated.
If you do not have enough time to update the package, at least point
people to the lirc website, please.
