ok, i've been testing new ltsp packages based on:

http://llama.freegeek.org/~vagrant/bzr/ltsp/vagrant-ltsp-mainline

which is a merge of the debian and ubuntu branches, along with a few
bugfixes i've found along the way..

still need to review the plugins implemented in Ubuntu that we should
consider implementing for Debian. help with that would be appreciated.

we can honestly claim to be a proper LTSP5 implementation, now. :)

i also have put some work into splitting ltsp-client into two packages:

http://llama.freegeek.org/~vagrant/bzr/ltsp/features/vagrant-ltsp-client-core

 * ltsp-client is now essentially a metapackage with dependencies for
(almost) everything, and is installed by default.

 * ltsp-client-core contains all the code (mainly init scripts), but
only enables features if the respective binaries are present (it still
 respects disabling features with lts.conf).

i've tested packages with both of the above branches merged, and it
seems to work ok on a qemu terminal, though i don't have any real
hardware to test on.

live well,
