you are free to wish and dream, of course, but the current code is
completely relying on debootstrap, so without support in debootstrap or
some similar tool, it would require LTSP to re-implement the entire
functionality of debootstrap.

i don't think this would be a trivial amount of work, or desireable to
do; i'd rather leave initial chroot generation to other tools.
