Based on this I raise the severity. This could be argured, of course,
since technically I could boot but looking but
a) the upgrade was stuck and
b) the failed update (in the boot loader!) is really scarry since the
   error message is so unclear that I really expected the boot to
   fail. I only found out that it worked because I was travelling
   (offline) and had to shut down the machine due to low battery.
