I reran it and copied down some of what I could.

Errors occur in running the init script in the initramfs:
Repeated missing /proc/mounts or /etc/mtab
Cannot find various commands like mount.
No /proc/cmdline
No /sbin/init

I looked around what I had. There was an init there, running that repeated the 
errors so I guess that is what was running.

Some stuff in /etc but no fstab or mtab
Its /root in empty.

As I said, the other version of the kernel starts up normally
