I think they are not strictly needed: Since the included boost directory 
appears in the CFLAGS it it prefered over /usr/include/boost. But since 
this is fragile (it would not work anymore if an explicit -I/usr/include 
slips in) I would leave the conflicts as is.
1.5 should be built with the system boost and does of course not have the 
conflicts.
