I know of one reproducible crash which I could not yet investifaget, but in 
general it does not trigger very often for me.

I don't think it is that important. Far more important would be to get 
latex-xft-fonts in etch again. As it looks now it will not be included, and 
that will make math in LyX nearly unusable.
