Running lyx on my machine causes this error:

Assertion triggered in const std::string lyx::to_ascii(const
lyx::docstring&) by failing check "ucs4[i] < 0x80" in file
../../../src/support/docstring.cpp:55
Abortado


(Abortado is the portuguese for "aborted").

It runs fine if I force LC_ALL=C . A few versions ago it worked fine (I
think the last I tried was 1.5.0 or something).
