Looks good. Have you tried to reconfigure and restart LyX?
(Through the menu Tool->Reconfigure or by running /usr/share/lyx/configure.py)

The empty error box shouldn't happen (that's a bug we've have to forward)
and I can confirm that in case of missing texlive packages. But it should
go away when everything is fine and when you get a .dvi file generated
everything should be fine in theory. :)
