Hi,
That's my fault, in my patch (debian/patches/bugs/99_regexp-replace-fixed.patch)
I assumed that "wchar_to_mbstr" returns sensible values,
but it appears that this function returns NULL when
zero length string is passed as argument.

I attach reworked patch that fixes my bug, Patrick please
use this patch instead those from http://bugs.debian.org/474484
