A bug was reported in gnome-terminal (the cursor becoming invisible).
The other terminal emulators are behaving properly, it seems, and
mcedit works.  Reassigning to gnome-terminal would be correct.

xterm's behavior depends on whether the cursor color is set.
(documented of course - konsole has no documentation worth mentioning ;-)
