I also mentioned this in y first report. I would even suggst to force
"lynx-like" motion because I'd regard this way more practical and it
does not harm because the <left>/<right> keys are not doing any
reasonable thing (or am I missing something?)

Same feeling on my side. I do not see any reason to keep unpackaged
copies of upstream sources. However, I need to adapt what those people
in the team started and I assume the yhad their reasons.
