Thank you for this info.
I get used with Patrick to complete changelog step by step.
As you like, the important is to see the job already done by other maintainers.
Git can do the job, your are right.

About upload, if you think we must wait for 4.8.17, I'm OK.
The patch added doesn't fix the issue?
I prefer an 'old' stable version than a fresh but buggy version.
Its my philosophy and its the reason why I chose Debian.
