[Pkg-mediawiki-devel] suggestion for main page

Great to see the new mediawiki packages in sid. Many thanks to all
involved. Here is a request:

Make the media wiki page the "main page" in /var/www/ after one installs
debian. This would increase the usefulness and ease in which new users
can use their new Linux box internally. (I mean inside of a corporation).

There are lots of competing proprietary solutions trying to do what the
mediawiki does for free. Many of these solutions are microsoft only and
designed to lock companies into a vendor solution that forces them to
use a microsoft server and often only enables the full features for
users of Internet Explorer. (Just like thunderbird vs. outlook with an
exchange server.)

Hopefully mediawiki will naturally penetrate the market just like apache
did and end up with 90% of the market share; thus establishing itself
and the mediawiki syntax as the predominant standard.

Best wishes & success,
Jeff
