OK. Any chances of getting PostgreSQL support first-tier upstream?
Not necessarily replacing your current data…whatever, but at least
acceptance.

Yes. The others in the packaging team would probably match that more.

EXACTLY! You may know the application, but not how it integrates
with the rest of the system(s).

Considering the low amount of patches I fail to see a problem
with the Debian package.
