I’m working on MediaWiki in Debian with focus on integration into
FusionForge, and as such, I’d rather patch the existing 1.15 version
(especially since we’re immediately before a Debian release freeze)
than upgrade right now, as the automatic database upgrade when the
wiki is upgraded is currently nonexistent, and as such would break
existing installations and require lots of manual work. (I’ve prodded
on the FusionForge side to get this into shape soon, though.)

Indeed – our non-FusionForge Wikis are even older…

I personally do not want to join another high-volume list.
I’ve joined the MW packaging team mostly to get more extensions
packaged, and can justify investing _some_ work into this as
part of my dayjob, but not high-volume MW devel or tech discussions.

Still thanks for the recommendation.
