aptitude, and not using --no-install-recommends.

Yes, but I don’t care. If you care about dependencies, use
--no-install-recommends; if you don’t use it, you get the
“everything works” defaults.
I defer the actual Recommends stanza in mediawiki-extensions-confirmedit
to the person who added it in the first place (IIRC not me, probably
Romain) and default to keeping it.

It depends on the file cancel.sty which is part of that package
and was introduced only very recently. See the commit messages.
