[Pkg-mediawiki-devel] Parsoid Debian package under development / naming

Hi,

I am currently working on a Debian package for Parsoid [1][2]. This is
initially intended to be distributed from a Wikimedia repository (and
used internally), but it would be great to integrate with the wider
MediaWiki packaging in the longer term, and maybe also become a part of
Debian proper.

We are now debating the naming of the package. Currently it is called
mediawiki-parsoid, but that is both fairly noisy and also differs from
what we have been using so far for init, configs and log files.
Start-stop-daemon also complains about service names longer than 15 chars.

The short option is to call it just 'parsoid'. This is consistent with
the way we have called config files and log directories so far. The main
concern would be that it might be harder to find, although having it
recommended by the mediawiki package and including MediaWiki in the
short description pretty much fixes that.

Any thoughts?

Gabriel
