I'm around but still not sure what exactly you want me to do.
I cannot force cairo to suddenly be a library that is completely
finished.  We can closely track working versions and write versioned 
shlibs dependencies between libgdiplus and libcairo.

I'm happy to coordinate that, or take on libgdiplus packaging
to get them working together.   I've been working with the
cairo upstream for months and have had good work with them
so it seems best to continue that. 

Since I've been building Mono CVS against the debs I've been
making for months without any version problems, I'm not too
worried about hypothetical future versioning issues.
